Instructions

1
Slice off the top from an empty soda can using an utility knife. Cut carefully and away from yourself. Repeat with the bottom.
-
2
Cut a piece out of the can that is 3 inches long and 1 inch high. Turn so your piece of soda can lies horizontally in front of you. Using a black magic marker, draw a horizontal line directly through the middle of the piece of aluminum, separating the piece of metal in half.

3
Draw another horizontal line, through the middle of the upper portion of your piece of metal, dividing it in half. Repeat this step with the lower portion.
-
4
Draw three short vertical lines, spaced 1/2 inch apart, extending from the middle line downwards. These three lines should be exactly parallel. You are going to draw an "M" shape. The far right and left lines you just drew the right and left parts of your "M" shape.
-
5
Draw the right and left sides of your "V" shape. Make you lines and corners very curvy, so that your finished shape looks like a soft, curvy "M." Cut out your "M" shape with a sharp pair of scissors. Cut it out so that you throw away a shape that looks like two teeth, pointing upwards.
-
6
Turn the piece of metal so that it lays across the work surface horizontally, with the "M" shape upright. Fold down the upper panel of the metal so it touches the top points of your "M." Fold the right and level panel on either side of the "M" shape upwards and around, so that your "M" shape is gone. You should have a roundish looking point, which points straight downwards from a strip of folded over metal.
-
7
Turn your Master Lock so it faces you. Wrap the piece of metal around left shackle so that the tooth shape of the metal slides into the inside left hole and the right and left bands of the metal wrap around the shackle. Move your metal piece up and down, twisting it slightly. The lock will pop open.
