How to Install the DeviceNet Trunk Line
The trunk line is a component of the DeviceNet automation network. DeviceNet is used to connect Open DeviceNet-compatible automation equipment, such as the variety of machines used in car manufacturing, to a central system. This allows each machine to communicate its status and work cooperatively with other machines to ensure it performs its actions at the right time in the assembly. Each DeviceNet device is connected by a trunk line to its DeviceLink. Installing the trunk line will make the device "aware" of its current network.
