Charmglow Propane Heater Troubleshooting
Charmglow propane heaters are designed to deliver warmth on a patio during cool months. The company also manufactures ventless models for indoor use. Both types connect to a tank of liquid propane for fuel. If your heater will not operate, try troubleshooting for clogs in the nozzle for the pilot as well as checking the push-button ignition system. Barring a mechanical failure, the problem may be as simple as an empty propane cylinder that needs refilling. Does this Spark an idea?

2
Unscrew the gas hose from the rear of the Charmglow with a pair of pliers.

3
Lift the gas tank with the propane scale to determine if it is empty. Refill the tank if necessary.

Poke a push pin into the nozzle of the pilot and the vent hole on each side of the pilot to clear any obstructions. Blast compressed air from a can into the holes and into the end of the disconnected gas hose.
-
5
Push the wire and connector on the back of the ignitor button firmly against the button to ensure a good connection. Verify the wire is not broken or kinked.

7
Push in the Charmglow's knob and hold while clicking the ignitor button. You must hold in the knob to release gas to the heater while attempting to light the appliance. If it still does not light after several attempts, there may be an internal mechanical problem. Have the heater serviced by professionals trained in gas appliance repair.
