How to Install the Saleen Twin Gauge Pod System on a 2001 Mustang
Saleen is an American company known for its modified Mustangs. Cars built by this company are faster and better handling than stock Mustangs. Among the accessories that the company offers is a Twin Gauge Pod system, which combines a boost gauge for monitoring supercharger boost pressure as well as an air temperature gauge that monitors the supercharger air temperature.

Remove the headlight knob by pushing outward on the retaining clip located behind it with a small, flat head screwdriver. Pull on the knob at the same time.

Remove the two plastic instrument cluster bezel screws from with a Torx bit. Pull the bezel out. Remove the four Torx screws that hold the cluster in place.

Position the mounting template on the center of the dash top, aligning the dashed line on the template with the middle of the dash vents. The front edge of the template should follow the edge just above the vents. The back of the template should line up with the rear edge of the dash.

Tape the template to the dash. Using the template holes as a guide, drill the four holes in the dash with an electric drill. Drill the ¾-inch hole with a hole saw. Cut the dash material marked by the template with a razor blade. Turn the fan on high to blow out any debris.

Insert the wiring harness with the three wires into the area behind the instrument cluster. Insert the 7-foot black wire and the harness with two wires over the kick panel on the passenger side.

Connect the white and blue from the gauge pod to the white and blue wire that goes to PIN 12 on the connector located on the back of the instrument cluster. Use an inline wire connector to splice the wire into the harness.

Connect the blue wire from the gauge pod to blue/red wire on PIN 4 of the instrument cluster connector.

Connect the black wire from the pod to the black wire on PIN 1 of the instrument cluster connector.

Open the passenger door. Pull the door sill plate straight up and out. Remove the fastener at the front of the kick panel and lift the panel out.

Connect the white/red wire from the gauge pod to the gray/red wire on PIN 91 of the PCM located behind the kick panel with a splice junction.

Open the hood. Route the 7-foot black wire from the pod from the interior through the firewall on the passenger's side. Fasten a small ring terminal to the end of the wire and connect the wire to the stud on the boost sending unit of the supercharger. This is on the left side of the supercharger. Run the wire along the fire wall of the engine compartment and secure with zip-ties.

Remove the three nuts and washers from the gauge pod. Plug the wiring harness into the gauge pod. Set the pod on the dash and then install the nuts and washers on the pod posts. Tighten them by hand.

Reinstall the instrument cluster, the gauge bezel and the headlight switch. Reinstall the passenger kick panel and door sill.
