How to Get Red Hair Dye Out of the Bathroom Tub
Whether you're going gray or simply wish to alter your natural hair color, dyeing your hair at home is a cost-effective way to make a change. After you have rinsed the red hair dye from your hair, you'll probably notice the dye has stained your bathroom tub. While red hair dye can permanently stain a bathtub if left untreated, cleaning the surface immediately after dyeing can prevent this from occurring. Does this Spark an idea?

Rinse the bathroom tub of excess dye with warm water immediately after dyeing your hair.

Pour 5 tbsp. dish-washing powder directly onto any dye stains. Allow the detergent to rest on the dye for at least two hours.

Squeeze fresh lemons over the red-dye stains, applying a liberal amount of juice. The bleaching agent within the lemon juice will help remove the red dye from the bathtub surface.

Allow the detergent and lemon juice to soak into the red dye for at least five hours. Rinse clean with warm water.

Pour 1 tbsp. bleach onto any remaining stains. Put on latex gloves to protect your hands, then scrub the bleach into the stains with a clean sponge. Rinse clean with warm water.

Tips & Warnings
When rinsing the dye from your hair, also run water over the bathroom tub to keep the red dye from resting on the surface.
Do not mix bleach with any other chemical, as this may create toxic fumes.
