How to Attach Bird Netting
Bird netting is a way to protect your vegetables and fruits from birds. When you grow food in your garden, birds are able to easily eat the plants. But a tightly woven mesh of fabric protects the food while keeping the birds away. The right mesh fabric also prevents birds from getting tangled up in the netting. Things You'll Need
- Wooden stakes one foot longer than plants
- Hammer
- Netting or mesh
- Staple gun
- Scissors
- Bungee cords or rope

Choose the plants you want to protect and place four wooden stakes about six inches away from the plant. Hammer the stakes about four to six inches into the ground. Place the stakes at the north, east, south and west locations.

Place the netting around the entire length of the stake from top to ground. Staple the netting to each of the stakes. Cut off any unneeded netting with a pair of scissors. At this point, you have netting around the sides of the area.

Cut a large piece of netting for the top of the fruits and vegetables. Attach the netting to the top of the stakes with bungle cords or tie small pieces of rope. This allows you to remove the top netting when you want to take fruits or vegetables from the garden.
