How do I Troubleshoot a Yale Exit Device?
The Yale company specializes in many different types of door and window equipment that you may have installed in your home or office building. Check to make sure that the door is unlocked if you are having issues opening a door that has a Yale exit device installed. Check for obstructions in the door or on either side that may be preventing the door from opening.

Check out the door itself. Often, a door will not open because there is damage to the door itself, not the Yale exit device. Make sure that the door is not warped or bent in a way that would prevent it from opening. The door should also be securely on its hinges for the opening device to work properly.

Check the installation of the Yale exit device to make sure it is secured to the door properly. If one of the screws or nuts that was used to mount the device is not tightened fully, the opener might not work correctly. Check to see if any screws are loose or missing and replace them, if necessary.
