      Examine the garage door opener's overhead motor unit to find the "Learn," "Program" or "Train" button.

      Press and release the "Learn," "Program" or "Train" button on the overhead motor unit.

      Press and release the remote opener button that you want to use to operate the garage door opener.

      Press the same button on your remote opener a second time.

      Test your newly added remote opener. Press the remote opener button that you programmed to operate the garage door opener in Steps 3 and 4; the door should move. Press the button a second time to stop the door and a third time to reverse it.
