Instructions

    • 1

Measure the distance from the outermost edge of the end link in the left chain-link section of the fence to the outermost edge of the end link on the right section of the fence. Cut a section of chain-link fabric equal to the measurement from a roll of new fabric with the bolt cutters.

    • 2

Open the crimped wire ends of the last two links on the top and bottom of the section of chain-link fabric from the roll and separate the ends. Repeat this step on the other end of the fabric section.

    • 3

Turn the outer end links on the new section of fabric in a corkscrew fashion to remove them from the fabric section.

    • 4

Align the end of the new section of fabric to the edge of the fabric on the left side of the fence.

    • 5

Insert the removed outer link into the two end links in the new section and left section, corkscrewing down to catch both end links until that link is completely in place. Hook the open wire ends of that link to the open link on the end of the new section. Crimp the wires again with the pliers.

    • 6

Align the other end of the new section of fabric to the edge of the fabric on the right side of the fence.

    • 7

Insert the other removed outer link into the two end links in the new section and the right section in the same manner. Hook the open wire ends together and crimp the wires again with the pliers.

    • 8

Attach the new wire fabric section to the fence frame with wire ties at regular intervals by wrapping each wire tie around the top rail or post and crimping the ends to the chain-link fabric. Fasten the tension wire at the bottom of the fence to the fabric with hog rings.
