1
Write down all of the house cleaning chores that need done, and separate them into daily, weekly and monthly chores. Designate a specific day for each weekly and monthly chore on your list. For example, you might choose to vacuum the floors each week on Sunday afternoon, and on the last Sunday of each month you might do the monthly chore of cleaning the guest bedroom.

2
Set a time each day for all of your daily chores. You might do the dishes after dinner, for example. A daily chore like making your bed is probably best done in the morning when you wake up, and something like wiping the sink in the bathroom can be done after you brush your teeth at night.

Eliminate clutter to make cleaning easier and allow for more room to put away items you wish to keep. Remove any items that you don't need and recycle them, throw them out or give them to charity, depending on what type of item it is and the condition. For example, you might choose to give your collection of extra vases to charity since all they do is collect dust.

4
Organize your cleaning tools. Some common cleaning tools include disinfectant cleaner, glass cleaner, sponges, soap scum remover and furniture polish. Keep these cleaning supplies in one place in your home and have a small bucket so you can carry them with you when you tackle a cleaning job like the bathroom.

5
Delegate tasks among others in your household. If you are not the only person using the kitchen or bathroom, or generating laundry, spread the tasks around to make keeping up with the cleaning more manageable. Even younger children can put their clothes in the laundry basket, put away toys or straighten their own beds.
