1
Perform a water test on your pool water after you have filled the pool with well water. Use the enclosed collection tube and collect a water sample from at least a foot deep into your pool. Dip the test strip into the water and compare the colors on the chart. The kit will tell you what your water's pH is and the chemicals that need to be added.

2
Add 1 lb. of chemical shock at a time. Mix the shock in a bucket with approximately 1 gallon of water before pouring it into your pool. Add the chlorine at night when temperatures are cool.

3
Test your pools pH again. The pH should remain around 7.1 to 7.3. The more chlorine you add, the higher the pH will go.
-
4
Add approximately 8 oz. of clarifier to your pool water if you see the water begin to change color. The clarifier will bond with the metals in your well water to form larger particles that can be filtered out. Backwash your filter at least once a day when using a clarifier.
