Instructions

    • 1

Plug the power cord into the Whirlpool water heater and into a working power outlet if the unit isn't working. Reset the circuit breaker or fuse if necessary.

    • 2

Set the temperature control to a higher setting if there's no hot water or not enough hot water. Drain the water out of the tank to allow the water to replenish itself. Turn off the water heater and close the cold water valve. Open a hot water faucet nearby and connect a hose to the drain valve. Set the other end in a large bucket and open the drain valve. Let all the water drain from the tank. Close the drain. Turn on the cold water valve and let the tank fill. When water flows freely from the open hot water faucet, turn off the faucet and restore power. Avoid using multiple appliances that need hot water at the same time if possible.

    • 3

Turn on the water valves if there's no water in the tank or there's one flash on the display panel. Push the red "Reset" button on the control panel.

    • 4

Close the access panel on the water heater and verify insulation is in place if there are two flashes on the display, indicating that the water temperature reached the high limit.

    • 5

Contact Whirlpool for assistance with other error codes.
