How to Disassemble an Aboveground Pool

Aboveground pool manufacturers provide detailed instructions for assembly, but they may not provide directions for disassembling. Since these pools primarily consist of a liner and a few connecting parts, you can usually disassemble the pool by loosening all the connections and pulling each apart.       Make sure the aboveground pool is completely empty of toys, ladders and debris.

      Unscrew and pull off any hoses or connecting parts between the pump and pool.

      Place the manufacturer's plugs into all pool openings, including the drain and all valves.

      Twist apart the connections between the beams, rails or other supports holding the pool together. Remove the supports. If the supports are connected with screws or bolts, use a screwdriver or wrench to loosen the parts.

      Place the liner and all other pool parts in the sun and allow to dry thoroughly before storing. Fold the liner compactly and store all parts in the original box or another storage container.
