How to Attach a Basketball Net
The game of basketball takes a few essential pieces of equipment, including a ball and a goal. The goal consists of a backboard and a rim. A net on the rim can make your basketball game a little more enjoyable since it will help the ball fall softly to the ground after a made shot. Installing a net takes about 10 minutes.

1
Unravel the net from its package. The top will be wider than the bottom. It's easier to get oriented with the net when you are on the ground rather than on the ladder.
-
2
Climb your ladder. Cut the old net away from the rim with scissors. If you are using a metal net, remove it from the small hooks.

Match the ends at the top of the net with the hooks around the rim. For the typical system, squeeze one of the ends and thread it through the hook opening. Let the end loose so it opens open and attach the opening to the hook. Other systems require you to drop the end down into the hook device and tug on it until it attaches to the hook. Continue this process until all of the ends are attached to the rim.
-
4
Tug on the bottom net when you are completely finished.
