  • Small bowls
  • Vinegar
  • Water
  • Spray bottle

      Vacuum all of the carpets in your home. Use the vacuum cleaner attachments to vacuum furniture. This will help remove any ash that may have found its way onto carpet and furniture.

      Pour four cups warm water into a bucket. Add two cups vinegar to the water, along with 1 tbsp. baking soda. Dip a cloth into the solution, and rub it onto bare walls. This will help eliminate the smell of smoke.

      Fill a plastic spray bottle halfway with vinegar. Fill the rest of the bottle with water. Spray down counters and linoleum floors with the mixture. Dampen a cloth, and then wipe the counters down with it.

      Steam clean curtains, to remove the smoke that may have been absorbed into them.

      Pour baking soda into ash trays that may still be lying around.
