How to Muliply Formulas in Excel

How to Muliply Formulas in Excel thumbnail
Excel allows users to quickly perform complex calculations.

Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet program. As such, Excel can perform complex calculations. These calculations are known as formulas, which, when typed, will start with an "=". If two formulas need to be multiplied together, then it is possible to perform this calculation using another simple formula.

Instructions

    • 1

Enter a formula into a cell. For example, in cell A1 enter "=8*9". Cell A1 will then show 72.

    • 2

Enter a formula into another cell. For example, in cell B1 enter "=5*5". Cell B1 will then show 25.

    • 3

Enter the formula "=Cell Address1*Cell Address2". Replace cell address 1 and 2 with the cell address in which you entered the formulas. In the example, type into cell C1: "=A1*B1" and the result will be 1800. This formula multiplies the formula in cell A1 by the formula in cell B1.
