How to Clean a Gas Burner
Cleaning a kitchen range regularly will keep it operating effectively, allowing it to last longer. Gas burners often contain dried, burnt residue attached to them, which causes the burners to heat inefficiently. Cleaning clogged gas burners will improve how the burners distribute heat, as well as the appearance of the kitchen range. It is necessary to unplug the range and shut off the gas inlet valve, before attempting to clean gas burners. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Screwdriver
- Bucket
- 2 tbsp. liquid dish soap
- Stiff wire brush
- Clean towel

Turn off all the stove burners, and allow them to completely cool down. Once the burners are cool, remove the burner grates and drip pans.

Raise the stovetop, and remove the bracket holding the thermocouple and the pilot. Use a screwdriver to unscrew nuts or screws holding the burners in place.

Maneuver the burners out of the combustion chamber. Fill a bucket with hot water, and add 2 tbsp. liquid dish soap.

Place the burners in the soapy solution. Scrub the burners with a stiff wire brush until the grime is completely removed.

Rinse the burners under hot water. Place the burners on a clean towel to dry.

Place the burners back into the combustion chamber of the stove. Secure the burners by using a screwdriver to install the nuts and screws.

Remount the bracket holding the thermocouple and pilot. Relight the pilot and turn on the gas according to the directions in your stove's instruction manual.
