How Can I Get a New Version of Internet Explorer?

Every few years Microsoft will introduce a new version of Internet Explorer to the public. Each version features new functionalities and slight modifications that are designed to make your Web browsing experience easier and more enjoyable. As of June 2010, the most recent version of Internet Explorer is Internet Explorer 8. Because Internet Explorer is a free application, you can gain access to the newest version for no cost by visiting the Microsoft website.

Instructions

1. Visit Microsoft's Internet Explorer page (see Resources). This page features information about the most recent Internet Explorer browser.

2. Click the Download link near the top of the page.

3. Select your country and operating system on the Download page.

4. Click "Save File" when the installation dialog box appears.

5. Click "Run" when the next box appears.

6. Follow the steps in the installation wizard that opens. These steps are very simple and will mostly consist of your clicking "Next" when prompted.

7. Double-click the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop. The new Internet Explorer will now open.
