Instructions

    • 1

Mix together 3 cups of unsifted flower, 1 1/2 cups of salt, 2 tbsp. of oil, 3 cups of water, 1 tbsp. cream of tartar, and 3 drops of food coloring in the color of your choice.

    • 2

Place your mixture in a large saucepan and begin warming over medium or medium-low heat.

    • 3

Stir the mixture with a wooden spoon until the dough begins to thicken, and then pulls away from the sides of the pan. It is ready when it becomes a ball in the center of the pan.

Remove the dough from the pan and place it onto wax paper. Allow to cool enough so that you can knead or roll the dough.

    • 5

Divide your playdough into small containers and seal with lids.

Tips & Warnings

  • High heat will burn your mixture. Keep the heat at medium or below.
