How to Hook Up a DVD Player to a VCR & TV
Back when VCR's were the only method for enjoying home video, many television companies manufactured TV's with VCR's built into them. This was very convenient--until the DVD player came along. If you still have a TV/VCR combo, you'll be pleased to know that there's no need to throw it away. You can actually connect a DVD player to your TV/VCR unit.

1
Locate the RCA cable that came included with your DVD player. This is a long black cable with three color-coded jacks on each end.
-
2
Match the colors of the jacks on one end of the RCA cable to the colors in the ports in the line-out section on the back of the DVD player. The yellow jack goes into the yellow video port, the white jack connects to the white left audio port and the red jack plugs into the red right audio port.

3
Run the other end of the cable to the line-in ports in the back (or front depending on your particular model TV) of your TV/VCR combo.
-
4
Match the colors to the ports the same way you did on the back of the DVD player. After you do this, your DVD player will be hooked up to your TV/VCR combo.
