How to Repair Virco Classroom Chairs

How to Repair Virco Classroom Chairs thumbnail
Repair your Virco classroom chair, instead of throwing it away.

Virco classroom chairs, like all classroom chairs, can be damaged with use and repeated stress or when leaning back in the chair causes the legs to bend or break. Rough treatment or just repeated wear can also lead to breaks. Instead of throwing away the chair and paying to replace it, you can repair the chair yourself. Done correctly, the repair can help the chair last for years to come.

Instructions

    • 1

Contact Virco Manufacturing Corporation (see Resources). Tell the customer representative your model number and describe how the chair broke and what needs to be replaced. If the chair is under warranty, they may replace the chair without charge. If not, you may be able to order a replacement part and instructions on how to assemble it.

    • 2

Contact a school furniture parts supplier (see Resources). Provide the model of the chair that is broken and the part of the chair that needs to be replaced. You can order the parts you need to repair the chair along with instructions for the repair.

    • 3

Carefully follow the instructions for repairing your Virco chair. Use recommended tools and safety precautions. Contact the supplier if you run into any difficulties.
