Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the hot and cold faucets to which the Kenmore washer hoses are attached. Unplug the washer's power cord from the wall.

    • 2

Unscrew the water hoses from the faucets and place the ends of the hoses in a bucket to allow the excess water to drain. Use pliers to unscrew the hose connections, if necessary.

    • 3

Remove the drain hose from its drain port and set it in the bucket to prevent water from spilling.

    • 4

Move the Kenmore washer away from the wall or corner, if necessary, to access the back panel. Have an assistant help you, or use a dolly.

    • 5

Examine the Kenmore's back panel. Look for the cover mounting screws or bolts. There will usually be four, but there may be more. Remove the mounting screws or bolts.

    • 6

Grasp the sides of the cover and remove it from the Kenmore washer. Now you'll have access to many of the washer's vital components.
