How to Repair the Gravel Driveway With a Tractor
A gravel driveway requires special care and maintenance every so often. After rainstorms, when water forms channels in the drive, or even after months of use as the gravel naturally loses it intended drainage grade, repair and maintenance is always required. Since most driveways cover large areas, the natural choice is to use a tractor and box grader to complete this repair. It makes faster work of what would be an arduous task if done by hand. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Start the tractor by turning the ignition key, and make sure the box grader is in the raised position. If not, raise the grader by turning on the hydraulic raise switch.
-
2
Drive the tractor to the end of the driveway, and position the tractor so the box grader is above the very end of the driveway. Lower the box grader by switching the hydraulics to the "Lower" position.

3
Drive the tractor in its lowest gear down the length of the driveway, allowing the box grader to lift and pull out compacted gravel. The tines of the grader will naturally do this as you drive. This action creates a consistent surface, smoothing over lumps, channels and potholes in the driveway.
-
4
Continue to make passes along the driveway, overlapping each pass slightly, until all the channels and holes are worked out of the driveway.
-
5
Make several final passes to smooth over the surface of the driveway and form a consistent layer as close to the original layer of the driveway as possible.
-
6
Rake over small seams and bumps in the gravel driveway after you are finished the box grading portion of the project until you are satisfied with the final results.
