Turn off the signal alert for your GE dryer so you don't hear a sound when your cycle is complete.

General Electric dryers include a signal button next to the cycle knob that allows you to control the volume of the alert that sounds when your dryer's cycle is complete. The beeping sound plays every two minutes over a six-minute span until you open the dryer door and remove your clothes. The end-of-cycle alert is used to make sure you get your clothes out of the dryer before wrinkles can set in. However, you can easily disable the signal alert if you don't want to hear it.       Load you dryer with the clothes you want to dry to begin a new cycle, and then close the dryer door.

      Turn the cycle knob on your GE dryer to determine the type of cycle you want to run, and then locate the "Signal" button.

      Press the "Signal" button once to select the low-volume setting. Press the "Signal" button twice to select the "medium" volume setting.

      Press the "Signal" button for a third time to select the high-volume setting. Press the "Signal" button for the fourth time and the signal alert will be disabled.

      Press the "Start" button to run your cycle, and when the cycle is complete there will be no alert sound.
