Instructions

    • 1

Determine where you want to install the underground pet fence. Make a perimeter around the area of your property where your pet will be able to go.

    • 2

Mark the perimeter you determined in Step 1 by placing small flags in the ground every few feet.

    • 3

Bury the wire for the underground pet fence in the ground in an area that covers the perimeter you created in Step 2. The wire should be approximately 6 inches underground to keep it well-protected. Leave the flags around the perimeter.

    • 4

Splice wires where you need to. If you run out of continuous wire for the underground pet fence, strip about an inch from the wire jacket on either end you're splicing, using wire strippers. Next, push them both into a splice unit to connect them.

    • 5

Cover the pet fence wire with dirt and step on it lightly to tamp it down. None of the wire should be exposed on the surface.

    • 6

Drill a hole just big enough for the wires to fit through in the base of the wall where you're installing the transmitter. Pull the ends of the wires through the hole. Connect the end of the wire to the transmitter, and hang the transmitter indoors, such as inside a garage. The transmitter will need to be plugged into an electrical outlet to work.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use the flags around the perimeter of the underground pet fence to train your pet once the fence is installed.
