Instructions

    • 1

Remove all the dishes and other items from inside the cabinets.

    • 2

Remove the doors from the cabinets using your screwdriver. The exact type of screwdriver needed will depend on your specific cabinet design.

    • 3

Clean off the cabinet surfaces -- including the doors -- with soap and water. Remove any visible dirt or grime in order to prevent imperfections in the paint job.

    • 4

Tape plastic sheeting over all the exposed surfaces such as counters and windows near the cabinets to keep them safe from paint spills.

    • 5

Lightly sand every surface you intend to paint. This will help the paint establish a stronger bond with the material of the cabinets.

    • 6

Clean off the dust created by sanding in the previous step with a damp cloth or paper towel.

    • 7

Place masking tape over any surface you do not wish to paint if it is next to a surface you do wish to paint.
