How to Start Go Kart Racing in Indiana
Competitive go-karting is the fastest form of motorsports in the world and it provides all the fun and thrills of full-scale racing at a fraction of the cost according to TS Racing. One of the better places in the world to start go-karting is Indiana. Indiana has a history in racing, and has a number of tracks and resources available. According to Indy Speedway, there are plenty of options to get your go-karting "fix", as Indiana tracks offer both European style indoor courses and some good outdoor courses. You must be 18 years old to ride at most of tracks, but Indiana also provides plenty of available options for kids in their kart divisions.

Before getting involved with go-kart racing visit a local track and buy a pit pass. Check out the action at one of Indiana's many go-kart racing establishments. When you are at the track, buy a pit pass and learn about the track's programs by picking up a tech manual.

Whiteland Raceway Park (Whiteland) is home to the oldest kart track in America Choose the type of kart racing you want to participate in. There are both indoor (European) and outdoor karting racetracks in Indiana. Outdoor karting options include a one-mile road course at New Castle Motorsports Park, or a pavement track at the oldest kart track in America, Whiteland Raceway. Whiteland Park is sponsored by NASCAR's Tony Stewart's Junior Racing League.

Go-karting can be enjoyed by the whole family. Join one of several Indiana Racing Associations. These racing associations include the Southern Indiana Racing Association, the Chainbreakers Club, or Kart Racers of America at New Castle. Kart Racers of America offer 14 races per year with around 200 entries per event.

Being properly equipped and safety is very important in karting. Attend a driving school or one of the many classes that are offered by the racing associations or tracks. The associations mentioned above and several other kart tracks offer classes on a variety of subjects in kart racing.
