How to Ship a Container to Croatia
A freight forwarder is an organization that arranges for the movement of freight by the most expeditious means and the most appropriate route, to minimize the cost to the shipper. The full-service freight forwarder's staff includes a logistics officer who makes the arrangements for pickup, carriage and delivery to the receiver, a customs agent who initiates the appropriate customs paperwork, based on the point of origin, the point of deliver and the character of the cargo and support staff to help make the move nearly painless.

1
Measure the length, width and height of the container. Multiply the length by the width and the result by the height of the container to calculate the number of cubic feet of space the container occupies.
-
2
Multiply the number of cubic feet of space the container by 0.283 to determine the number of cubic meters of space the container occupies.
-
-
3
Print a manifest of the cargo in the container, if any.
-
4
Find and contact a reputable freight forwarder. Advise the freight forwarder that you have a container to ship to Croatia. Tell the freight forwarder the size of the container in cubic meters, so the freight forwarder's logistics officer can begin preparing for its movement.
-
5
Specify a departure or an arrival date for the container and fax a copy of the cargo manifest to the freight forwarder so that Customs paperwork can be initiated by the freight forwarder's customs agent.
