  1. General Maintenance

      Clean the machine after 10 to 15 hours of operation. Begin by turning off the main switch.

      Remove the needle plate and lower the feed dogs. Clean the feed dogs and the hook with a lint brush or a vacuum attachment. Use canned air to blow out all excess dust and lint.

      Add one drop of oil on the hook and replace the needle plate.

      Wipe down the surface area and window with a soft dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleansers.

    Changing the Light Bulb

      Turn off the main switch and disconnect the lead cord and foot control plug.

      Remove the accessory tray. The light bulb is located inside the machine near the needle threader.

      Push the light bulb changer up as far as it will go and turn the burned out bulb half a rotation counter-clockwise to remove it.

      Guide a new bulb (12 volt, maximum 5 watts) into the diagonal holder and turn it until the pins of the bulb engage.

      Push the bulb up into the bulb holder and turn half a rotation clockwise. Remove the bulb changer from the bulb.

    Update the Machine

      Use the special cable that came with your machine. It will have the USB connection on one end and a creative card on the other. Connect one end to your sewing machine, the other to your computer.

      Connect your computer to the Internet and visit the Pfaff website home page.

      Click on the button to update your machine and the model. You'll need to register your machine and enter your e-mail address to update.

      Download the program update directly from the Pfaff website to your machine.
