How to Install Auxiliary to the Shaker 500

You can connect an MP3 player directly to your Mustang's stereo system.

Ford Mustangs come with an available stereo upgrade option known as the Shaker 500. This upgrade improves the overall speaker performance while giving you a different stereo receiver. The receiver comes with a connection jack that allows you to hook up outside equipment, such as MP3 players, directly to the stereo. To use the connection, you need to properly hook up the auxiliary jack to the external equipment.

Things You'll Need

• 3.5-mm cable
• Audio device

Instructions

1. Plug one end of the 3.5-mm cable into the headphone jack of the audio device you want connected to the Ford Mustang's stereo system.

2. Insert the opposite end of the 3.5-mm cable into the "Aux" port on the stereo system.

3. Power on the Ford Mustang and the connected audio device, then select the "Aux" option on the stereo receiver. This changes the receiver to play back the audio of the connected audio device. Press "Play" on the external equipment.
