How to Remove the Control Panel From a GE Profile Washer

Unplug the GE Profile washer from the socket where it's currently plugged in.

Turn off both the hot and cold water supply for the GE Profile washer. These supply valves are usually mounted on the wall behind where the washer is installed. Rotate the knobs to the right to turn them off.

Pull the knobs from the control panel on the GE Profile washer straight off. Use a pair of pliers to get a better grip if needed.

Remove the screws holding the control panel in place with the screwdriver. These may either be on the front or the rear of the GE profile washer, depending on the model.

Slowly lift up on the control panel. Don't pull hard, as the control panel is still connected to the Profile wiring harness.

Unplug the wires from the harness connected to the control panel. They may be plugged directly into the back of the panel with sockets, or they may be linked together with a male/female coupling. Squeeze the sides of the coupling and gently pull the wires apart.

Pull the control panel gently away from the machine.
