How do I Get a Gamepad GGE909 to Work With an Insaniquarium Deluxe Game?
PopCap's Insaniquarium Deluxe PC game presents players with a virtual fish tank, and tasks them with feeding the contained fish while fighting off alien attacks. The game uses the system's mouse to control all onscreen actions, and does not natively support the use of Game Elements' GGE909 gamepad controller, or any other joystick input device. In order to use the gamepad with Insaniquarium, you need to use a third party application that allows control of the cursor via a gamepad joystick.

Connect the GGE909 gamepad to a free USB port and wait for the computer to recognize the device. If this is the first time you have connected the controller, Windows will display a status message when it is ready to use.

Click on Start and open the Control Panel. Double click on the "Game Controllers" icon to view connected controllers. Select the GGE909 and click the "Properties" button to view the current state of the gamepad's inputs. The joystick should remain stationary while not in use, and none of the button indicators should activate unless the corresponding buttons are pressed. If the joystick's properties seem incorrect, click "Calibrate" to set up the device.

Download software to convert joystick inputs to mouse inputs. Several free options are available online, including JoyToKey and Joystick 2 Mouse. Run the downloaded installation file to setup the software on your system.

Open the software from the Start menu. If you have more than one gamepad selected, choose the GGE909 from the list of connected devices.

Set one of the gamepad's joysticks to control the mouse. Most conversion programs will include a sensitivity setting to change the cursor speed. Set another button to the primary mouse click. You only need these two functions to play Insaniquarium Deluxe, but you may wish to set other gamepad buttons to other mouse functions or keyboard keys for ease of use.
