How Can I Get a Free Credit Report?

The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) entitles everyone to one free credit report from each of the national credit bureaus: Equifax, Experian and TransUnion. The free credit report can be ordered from each bureau once per 12-month period. You can request your free credit report online, over the phone or through the mail. If you request it online, you will be able to view your report instantly. Otherwise, you will have to wait up to 15 days before the report is mailed to you.
