How to Make Bean Bag Sets
Whether you’re playing a traditional bean bag toss game, tic-tac-toe or your own creation, bean bags are a mainstay of childhood toys. They provide an ideal way for kids to stretch their gross motor skills and can encourage a little friendly competition. Not only are they suitable for a range of ages and applications, but bean bag sets are simple and inexpensive to make at home.

1
Cut the fabric into 4 to 6-inch squares. Heavy-weight cotton works best.
-

Arrange two squares of fabric on top of each other. Make sure the fronts of the fabric are facing inward.
-
-
3
Sew the sides of the edges together. Leave a 2-inch opening along one side in order to fill the bags.
-
4
Turn the bag inside out. Push out the corners of the bag with a chopstick or the eraser end of a pencil.
-
5
Insert the tip of the funnel into the 2-inch opening. Fill the bag with beans or rice (approximately 8 to 12 oz. for a 6-inch bean bag). Remove the funnel and sew the 2-inch opening.
