Do-It-Yourself Installation of a Soap Dispenser on a Countertop

Install a soap dispenser in the counter to relieve the counter of clutter and unattractive plastic hand soap bottles. You can purchase a soap dispenser that matches the style and finish of your faucet or matches the finish of your sink. Some sinks have an additional hole pre-cut into them for a sprayer or dispenser, but if your sink does not have an additional hole, you must install the dispenser through the countertop.   • Masking tape
  • Drill
  • 1 1/4-inch hole saw

Instructions

      Position your soap dispenser to the left or right of the sink. Choose a location for you dispenser in line with your existing faucet near the back of your countertop.

      Cover you hole location with masking tape to protect the surface of your countertop. Cut a 1-1/4-inch hole through the countertop using a drill and a 1 1/4-inch hole saw. Remove the tape from the countertop.

      Install the soap dispenser sleeve into the hole from the top of the countertop. Secure the sleeve to the countertop with the nut, provided with the dispenser, from beneath the countertop.

      Thread the soap dispenser pump through the sleeve from above the countertop. Screw the soap bottle into the pump from beneath the countertop.
