1
Find out the capacity of your oven. The capacity of a convection, microwave, rotisserie or counter oven is measured in either cubic inches or cubic feet, depending on its overall size. The higher the capacity for an oven, the larger types of foods you'll be able to cook in that unit. You can also cook more food at one time with a larger-capacity oven.

2
Compare how many different types of heat a single oven uses. For example, you can find separate units for convection, microwave and rotisserie cooking. However, you may also find one unit that acts as a convection and a rotisserie oven or one unit that acts as a convection and a microwave oven. This allows you to proverbially kill two birds with one stone.

Look at the price of any item before you buy. Price typically has some relation to the overall quality of the machine. For example, you could find a microwave designed for counter use for less than $100, but that unit may only last you a few years. A unit that performs the jobs of a convection and a rotisserie will cost you more than just a convection or just a rotisserie. Weigh your options before purchasing.
