How to Replace the Polaris 325 ATV Drive Belt

The Polaris 325 is a popular brand of all-terrain vehicle favored by many off-road recreational enthusiasts. The drive belt on your Polaris is the belt that turns the engine driveshaft. The rubber belt can be vulnerable to the elements and rugged off-road use over time and needs to be changed out if it breaks. Replacement belts can be easily purchased by your local Polaris dealer. It takes approximately an hour to change the drive belt on your Polaris.

Things You'll Need

• Pliers
• Socket set
• Replacement belt

Instructions

1. Raise your Polaris seat to the upright position.

2. Remove your Polaris's spark plug wire by pulling it off with a pair of pliers.

3. Loosen the belt tensioner bolts on your Polaris 325 and slide the tensioner towards you so that the belt loosens. Slip the belt off the pulleys by hand and then place the new belt on.

4. Push the belt tensioner away from you and then tighten the belt tensioner bolts. Once you are done there should be no slack in the drive belt.

5. Replace your 325's spark plug wire and then lower the seat.
