How to Knit Fine Silver Wire Feet
Knitting with wire follows almost the same procedure as regular knitting, as the wire is used in place of yarn. Fine silver wire is used for knitting, particularly jewelry, as it is flexible and will not oxidize or discolor over time. Feet are not used for all type so knitting, mainly those objects that will stand on the ground, for example a basket. You can easily add feet to any project by determining where to place the feet as you knit.

1
Determine where to place the feet depending on how the knitted item will stand. It is usual to place the feet on the bottom panel of the item, evenly spaced from the corner. Look at the measurements of the pattern and mark where the feet will be.
-
2
Stop knitting when you reach the first spot for the foot. Thread a large bead onto the wire if you are making the feet using beads. If you are shaping the wire to form a foot then pull out a length of wire before starting to knit again.

3
Knit a few more rows to anchor the foot spot.
-
4
Twist, bend or push the extra looped wire at the foot spot into the desired for shape. A foot can be a small ball, several beads or any other shape that catches your fancy. Just make sure you have pulled out enough wire at the spot.

5
Repeat step two to four for the other three spots where the feet are placed.

Tips & Warnings
Make a practice foot to determine how much wire is needed to create the foot. This way you will know exactly how much to pull out when you reach the foot spot.
