Egyptians, while famous for Hieroglyphics, also speak a more common language.

Arabic, the official language of Egypt, is spoken by an estimated 186 million people around the world. Some 50 million people, mostly in Egypt, speak Colloquial Egyptian Arabic. If you travel in Egypt, you may not need an extensive knowledge of Arabic to get around as most people in popular Egyptian tourist areas can speak English.
