How to Put Wood Letters on Your Wall
Wooden letters are a creative decoration idea for any room in the house. You can spell words or sayings with the letters, including children's names or words that are important to you. While some wooden letters come with hanging components already installed, you may have to install them yourself. A hook and wire system is the easiest way to hang wooden letters from your wall. 1
Turn the wooden letters over. Select where you want to install the hanging wire on the back of the first letter. Mark the spot with a pencil, then measure the distance from the top of the letter to the spot you marked. Mark that same measurement on the back of each letter.

2
Use a hammer to gently place two wood nails into the back of the letters, one on each side of the letter at the height you marked with the pencil. Use nails that are less than the thickness of the letter so they do not come through the front of the letter.

Wrap the loose end of the picture wire around the first nail in the first letter. Hook the loose end of the wire around the nail and around the rest of the wire to secure it to the nail, so the wire resembles the neck of a wire hanger. Pull the wire across to the second nail, pulling it tight so it is a straight line. Cut the wire with wire cutters and wrap the loose end around the second nail and hook it around the rest of the wire. Repeat with each letter.

4
Place the first picture hook on the wall at the height you want to hang the letters. Secure the hook by using an electric drill to insert screws through the holes in the hook and into the wall. Hang the rest of the hooks at the same height.

5
Hang the pictures on the hook by lowering the wire on the back of the letters into the hook.
