Press the button or flip the switch on the night light to the "Off" position. Pull the night light out of the wall outlet. Grip the cover of the night light in one hand and the back of the night light in the other. Pull the cover off the night light and place it aside. Unscrew the burned out bulb from inside the bulb socket -- if the bulb appears cracked, put on a work glove before unscrewing it from the socket. Dispose of the bulb properly. Screw a replacement bulb into the socket and place the cover back on. Plug the night light back into the wall outlet. Turn it on to test.

Pull the night light's plug out of the wall outlet. Plug a table lamp into the wall outlet. Turn the switch on -- if the light doesn't turn on, the power being supplied to the wall outlet is in question. Go to the fuse box in the basement or utility closet of the house and place the beam of a flashlight on each of the fuses. Pull out the fuse whose glass panel is darkened compared to the rest and insert a replacement fuse. If circuit breakers are used instead of fuses, point the beam of the flashlight across the circuit breakers until you come to the one that is not even with the rest. Push this circuit breaker up or down to make it even with the rest. Unplug the table lamp's power cord from the wall outlet. Plug the night light back into the wall outlet.

Press the button or flip the switch on the side of the bubble night light to turn it off. Pull the bubble-light night light out of the wall outlet. Put on a pair of work gloves. Hold the bubble night light in one hand as you unscrew the bubble module from the night light with the other hand -- rotate the bubble module slowly counterclockwise until it comes free of the night light. Dispose of the bubble module properly since it contains a toxic liquid. Screw on a replacement bubble module -- finger tightness only. Plug the bubble night light back into the wall outlet and turn it on. Watch the bubble night light as it heats up over the course of a half hour and starts to send bubbles up and down its length.
