How to Clear a Clogged Nose

A stuffy, clogged nose is a common problem among all ages. It can be caused by a cold, asthma, allergies, and by poor air quality. Not being able to breathe correctly can cause a loss of sleep, dry lips, or dehydration. Over-the-counter drugs can be a cure, but there is an alternative, natural treatment. Eucalyptus globulus, also known as the eucalyptus tree, provides the world with eucalyptus essential oil. The oil is harvested from the leaves and has many health benefits. Using it to clear a clogged nose will stop the annoyance and allow you to breathe freely.

Things You'll Need

• 4 drops eucalyptus essential oil
• Boiled water
• Bowl
• Towel

Instructions

1. Boil a pot of water. Pour the water into a bowl.

2. Add four drops of eucalyptus essential oil to the water.

3. Drape a towel over your head and lean over the bowl. The towel creates a tent over the bowl that concentrates the steam to stay directly near your face.

4. Inhale the steam for 10-15 minutes.

Tips & Warnings

• Do not allow your face to get too close to the water. Doing so may cause the steam to burn your skin.
