How to Remove a Corvette Pillar

Pillars are the four support columns that run from the Corvette's body to the roof. Alpha characters differentiate the pillars; that is, the front pillars are A pillars, the rear's are B pillars. The pillars have trim covers on the inside to enhance the Corvette's interior trim package. Over time these pillar trim covers can fade from sunlight or incur damage from moving objects. If the pillar trim is in need of replacement, the first step to doing so is to remove the pillar trim. Anyone with mechanical inclination can remove them in a matter of minutes.

Instructions

    • 1

Get into the Corvette. Grab the top of the pillar trim with one hand.

    • 2

Grab the bottom of the pillar with your other hand.

    • 3

Squeeze the pillar slightly with both hands and then pull straight backward into the passenger compartment with both hands, applying force equally to remove the pillar trim.

Tips & Warnings

  • When reinstalling, align the metal trim clips on the backside of the trim with the corresponding holes. Push firmly into place and then hammer the trim in with the side of your fist.
