How to Save Money at Walmart with Internet Coupons

The Sunday newspaper is known by many for the supply of coupons that accompany the national news each week. However, if you don't have the newspaper's coupon inserts available, you can find a large selection of manufacturer coupons online. These coupons can be printed and used in the same way as those which are found in the Sunday newspaper.



Walmart accepts manufacturer Internet coupons. When used wisely, the low prices at Walmart and money-saving coupons found online can be coupled together to save money on many of your Walmart purchases.

Instructions

1. Locate coupons online that you are interested in. Manufacturer coupons can be found on a variety of coupon websites and are often located on the manufacturer's websites. A few minutes spent searching for coupons can help you save money on your upcoming Walmart shopping trip.

2. Print all of the coupons that you are likely to use in the next one to two months. Internet coupons tend to have an expiration date of one to two months after printing.

3. Clip the coupons neatly and divide them into envelopes by category. For example, you may have a cleaning category, a food category, a baby category and a pet category. Place the coupons in each category into its own envelope. Label the envelope so you know the category of the coupons enclosed.

4. Bring your Internet coupons with you when you shop at Walmart. Compare the costs of items with and without coupons to get the best deal. For example, if you have a coupon for $1 off a brand name household cleaner and the cleaner is $1.12, whereas the generic cleaner is only $0.79, the better deal is the brand name cleaner with the coupon. However, if you have a coupon for $1 off brand name toothpaste priced at $3 and the generic toothpaste is only $1.50, the generic is a better deal.

5. Maximize your savings by using a coupon on every item. According to Walmart.com, one coupon per item is permissible. Therefore, if you have a buy one, get one free coupon for a package of deli meat and a $1 coupon for a package of deli meat, you can use both of these coupons when purchasing two packages of deli meat. The end result would be that you would purchase both package for $1 less than the cost of a single package.

Tips & Warnings

• Print out Walmart's coupon policy and take it with you when shopping. Some cashiers are not familiar with the coupon policy. Therefore, having the policy with you can make the check out process go more smoothly.
