Avoid overfilling the trash receptacles to avoid extra charges.

Construction rubbish accumulates on most construction job sites. New construction, remodels and demolitions all have a certain amount of rubble that can't be salvaged for reuse or recycling. This rubble must go to a landfill. The way you move the rubbish depends on the efforts made by the construction company to keep it organized. If it is just lying around, the job will take a lot of effort and time. Trash receptacles placed on site help keep the rubbish accumulation organized. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Have an appropriately sized trash receptacle delivered on the first day of the construction commencement. Set up small trash cans in accessible areas of the job site to encourage workers to toss rubble where it belongs.

    • 2

Haul the small trash cans to the larger trash receptacles whenever they get full. Dump them into the receptacle and replace them immediately.

    • 3

Contact the waste management company that delivered the receptacle as soon as it is full. Have them remove it and replace it with an empty one. Repeat this process until the job is completed.

Tips & Warnings

  • Deliverable trash receptacles come in 10, 20, 30 and 40 cubic yard dimensions. The 30 and 40 sizes are best for large commercial projects, while the 10 and 20 work best for residential jobs.

  • Load heavy rubbish with a bucket loader.

  • Hazardous waste must be disposed of in accordance with your local hazardous waste laws.
