Patio door rollers are an important part of any patio door. They help the door roll smoothly, allowing the door to be open so a breeze can come through the patio door screen. Over time the rollers on the patio doors can become worn or damaged and need to be replaced. Replacing the rollers on the Capri Cadet Patio door is done like roller replacement on any other type of patio door. Replacing these rollers is much cheaper than replacing the entire patio door.       Remove the trim above the patio door on the inside of the house. Using a pry bar, pull off the casing going across the top of the patio door. Locate the shims at the top of the door going into the header. Remove the screws holding the shims into the header and pull out the shims.

      Tip the patio door slightly so the top can easily be reached. Unscrew the patio door rollers located at the top corner of the active or moving patio door. Remove them from the patio door.

      Install new rollers into the patio door. Screw them in place using the same screws and tip the patio door back into place. Insert shims into the opening between the door frame and the header and screw them into the header.

      Line the casing back up across the door and nail it into place with a hammer and finishing nails. Slide the patio door back and forth to make sure it is working properly and the rollers are sliding correctly.
