How to Get Red Wax Out of a Hardwood Floor
When you leave a candle burning too long in the home, it is bound to drip on the floor. If you have a hardwood floor, you may be worried when red wax spills. If left too long, the red wax may stain the wood surface. Although most hardwood floors are protected from stains by a sealer, you should remove the wax as soon as possible so you're not tempting fate. A red stain on your hardwood floor can ruin it's appearance. Does this Spark an idea?

Heat and Vinegar

Set a hair dryer to medium heat and point it at the wax.

Hold the hair dryer over the wax until it is softened.

Wipe the wax off the hardwood floor with a cloth.

Add 1 cup white vinegar to 1 gallon warm water and wipe the area with the diluted vinegar to remove any staining.
Ice

Fill a plastic bag with ice.

Hold the ice onto the wax until it is hard and brittle.

Scrape the wax off the floor using a dull putty knife.

Place an ink blotter over the wax if any staining remains and run a hot iron over the blotter to melt the wax underneath, and suck it into the paper.
