The smart board is a useful tool in the classroom.

A smart board is a teaching tool that you can use in the classroom. It is a technical tool that takes the place of old fashioned projectors and overhead projectors. With a smart board, it is easy to provide students with examples and with technology to help facilitate learning. Many schools have smart board training seminars so you can get true in-depth knowledge of how to use a smart board in the classroom.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your smart board, the projector, and your computer. Log into Windows. As long as everything is connected properly, the Smart Board indicator light will go green. When this happens, you know that the smart board is working and you are going to be able to use it for your lesson.

Align the smart board before you use it. Press and hold the "Keyboard" and "Right Mouse" buttons. The "Orient Smart Board" menu will appear. Click on it and follow the on-screen steps to align the smart board with your computer and with you. If you don't do this step each time you use the smart board, it will not work properly.

Write notes and information for your students on the smart board using the smart board pens. Click on the colors of pens to pick them up and write with them. Or click on the eraser to pick it up and erase something as you go. Each time you pick up a new tool, be sure that you have already put down the tool you were using so the smart board does not get confused.

Click on "Save Notes" to save the notes you have written when you are finished with them. This will allow you to retain the notes for future use on your smart board.

Different brands of smart boardhave different functions. It is best to read the manual for your particular board to see what functions it has and to learn how to use them.
