Examine the shower chair and determine how the legs are attached. Some chairs have round spring clips and others have screws that hold the legs on.

Push in the round spring clip on each leg, if the chair is the spring-clip style. Push the clips in until the leg can be moved to a lower hole to extend the leg, thereby raising the chair. Adjust all the legs to the same height so that the chair is level.

Unscrew the screw or screws on each leg using a Phillips screwdriver if the chair's legs are attached with screws. Lower the legs to raise the chair and reinsert the screws. Lower all the legs to the same level to make the chair level.
