How to Attach a Vacuum to an In-Ground Pool
A pool vacuum can help you clean your swimming pool without you actually having to do the work. Several vacuum models are available that allow you to hook the vacuum to the pool filter and set it up so that it will run for a period of time. In-ground pools need frequent cleaning because it is often easier for you to see the dirt and debris on the bottom of the pool. Unfortunately, most in-ground pools do not come with an automatic vacuum. You will need to purchase one and install it using the included parts. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Turn off your pool's pump and filter.
-
2
Pull up on the skimmer cover next to the pool to expose the filter opening.

-
3
Place the vacuum connector onto the exposed filter opening. Connect the vacuum hose by pushing it through the pool skimmer (inside the pool) and onto the filter connector.
-
4
Connect the other end of the hose to the vacuum head. It should have clips on either side that secure the head to the hose.
-
5
Place the vacuum and hose into the swimming pool. Allow it to sink to the bottom and turn on the pump and filter.
-
6
Check the filter opening to ensure the filter connector has a snug fit. This will create the suction for the vacuum to clean the pool. Replace the external skimmer cover.
